Anna Keck was born in Charleston, SC. She was raised in a family that appreciated old things. Her creativity was nurtured in an environment that wasted nothing. Repurposing, garage sales, and thrift stores were common words in her family household. She was taught that if you need something and can’t afford it, figure out how to make it. Her family did not struggle financially, but they were not materialistic and were raised to not be wasteful.
Anna received her BFA in Fibers from the Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD) in 1991. After college, she moved to San Francisco, CA for three years. When she was accepted for a one year artist residency at Arrowmont School of Arts and Crafts, she relocated to Gatlinburg, TN. Anna eventually found her way back to Savannah and enrolled in the MFA program for Fibers. She works in the Fibers Department at SCAD as the assistant to the Chair of the Department. She earned her MFA in 2009 taking one class at a time while working full time. Anna has exhibited both nationally and internationally. She has also been published in New American Paintings, Fiberarts Magazine, and Surface Design Journal.
Anna also has a love for renovating old houses. She bought her first home in 1998. It was a bungalow in downtown Charleston, SC that was built in 1938. She renovated the house inside and out, including the painting, tiling, some carpentry and gardening. (She saves all the complicated stuff for the professionals: foundation, plumbing, electrical, etc.) In 2003, Anna relocated to midtown Savannah, GA and bought a duplex that was build in 1905. This home is still a work in progress.

Hi,
Your work is beautiful. Is any of it for sale? Also wondering if I could have you create an image using my old photos? Please contact me to discuss directly.
Thanks,
Julie

Your work is wonderful, and reminds me of another artist whose work I’ve collected over the years. Are you represented, or have some outlet for sales? Please contact me.
Thank you,
Bryan
